Gerald Hogg – Founding Director

Gerald Hogg has 20 years of professional advisory experience. He began his career with Ernst and Young in the Economics Practice where he worked with UK and European institutions on assessing the effectiveness of regional and industrial support programmes, as well as the competitiveness of European industry. He then moved to the Strategy practice working with clients in Automotive, Financial Services and Consumer goods, focusing on developing business unit strategy, growth, and multi-channel go-to-market strategies.

He left Ernst & Young to participate and lead in a series of ventures, eventually managing the turnaround of a publishing software house in the UK during the 2001-3 downturn.

More recently, since 2003 he has built an independent consulting practice and partnered to deliver a number of engagements in sectors including Defence and Aerospace. These have involved working on the industry side on logistics and support transformation programmes in Air, working with IT systems and services companies operating in Defence and National Security . He has also worked on the ‘Customer’ side, for example, on the market and industry analysis of for the Defence Industrial Strategy, and working with the RAF on a review of a key support services programme.

At the same time, he has continued to serve customers in the retail and consumer goods sectors working with marketing executives to develop new propositions, develop pricing and channel strategies. This work has enabled him to keep abreast of the latest management tools in fast moving customer-centric marketing environments.

He is an expert in Brands and quantifying brand value in both B2C and B2B markets and also an expert in managing the performance of large portfolios of brands and products through the life cycle.

Such experience is increasingly relevant to Defence and Security where customer and end/user needs are evolving rapidly.
